Vikipedija skirta ne studentų rašto darbams
Labai dažnai moksleiviai, studentai naudojasi interneto enciklopedija Vikipedija ir ją cituoja savo referatuose ir kituose studijų rašto darbuose, nes atlikus paiešką per Google pirmi surasti šaltiniai yra būtent iš Vikipedijos. Bet Vikipedija nėra tinkamas informacijos šaltinis referatams ir kitiems darbams rašyti. Kodėl?
1) Tai tik enciklopedija. Enciklopedijų straipsniuose yra trumpa, esminė informacija, kuri naudojama susipažinti su analizuojama tema, pagrįsti naudojamų terminų tinkamumą. Tik tiek. Bet ne pagrįsti visą rašomą darbą tik enciklopedinėmis tiesomis.
2) Vikipedijoje straipsnius gali publikuoti kiekvienas interneto vartotojas. Vikipedijos straipsniai nėra tradiciškai recenzuojami profesionalių recenzentų, t.y. tos srities specialistų. Pateikta informacija nėra tokia patikima, kaip tradicinės enciklopedijose. Naudojant Vikipedijoje surastą informaciją, jos teisingumą ir patikimumą reikėtų patikrinti kituose šaltiniuose.
3) Rašto darbams parašyti reikia naudoti ne vieną informacijos šaltinį! Publikuojama daug patikimų, elektroninių ir laisvai prieinamų šaltinių (mokslinių žurnalų, knygų, straipsnių ir kt.) internete, jau nekalbant apie begalę įvairių duomenų bazių. Nepatingėkite susirasti.
4) Užsienio universitetuose nerekomenduojama naudoti Vikipediją studentų rašto darbuose, nes joje randama daug nepatikimos ar klaidinančios informacijos.
Nebūkite kaip visi, nebūkite nuobodūs ir neparodykite dėstytojams savo negebėjimo atsirinkti tinkamą informaciją - nenaudokite Vikipedijos informacijos studijų ir mokslo darbuose.
